Carbonstop got 1A and 6B in CDP for 7 clients

From May to August 2018, carbonstop continued to provide carbon management service in CDP project for clients. The services include annual carbon emission calculation, emission targets, climate change risks and opportunities identification and supply chain questionnaire reply. The results released a little bit later than usual, on 22 January. In total, CDP global received 6973 questionnaires. 127 of them got A result, including Apple, China Mobile and Pirelli these responsible corporations. Carbonstop got 1 A- and 6 B for clients,  which proofs that Chinese corporations have paid close attention to the climate change field, and started to have achievement. The CDP invites major companies to fill out CDP design questionnaires each year to disclose corporate greenhouse gas emissions and disclose strategies to address climate-related risks and opportunities. Carbonstop has provided consulting support for CDP supply chain companies for many years and helped customers achieved outstanding results.  In 2019, carbonstop will continue to provide excellent and professional services to clients.

Carbonstop calculated carbon emission reductions of XTD board

In November 2018, carbonstop calculated carbon emission reductions of XTD board, which is composed of up to 95% straw material.  Besides, carbonstop also certificate the product as low-carbon products. The methodology follows the standards "CM-100-V01 carbon emission reduction methodology of waste agricultural straw replace wood producing board project ". Every m3 XTD board will reduce 1.6588 t CO2e.

Carbonstop Quantified Carbon Emissions of Jiannanchun Antarctic Exploration Tour to Help It Achieve Carbon Neutrality

“Exploration of the Planets”, sponsored by Jiannanchun and produced by Tencent video, invited celebrities Lao Lang, Dou Xiao, Zhang Weiwei and more than one hundred lucky consumers of Jiannanchun to join the Antarctic Exploration Tour. They went through Drake Passage and experienced the magic and mysterious scene of Antarctic, celebrated The Winter Solstice Festival and Christmas together with western crew. On the day of Winter Solstice Festival, all the people made dumplings and drank the wine from Jiannanchun together. To tackle the severer climate disaster and contribute to mitigation and adaptation to climate change as a leading enterprise, Jiannanchun invites Carbonstop to compile a carbon emissions inventory for the entire trip to the Antarctic. Then Jiannanchun plans to buy forest carbon sink to offset the carbon dioxide emissions to achieve zero emission. The total carbon emissions reach 741 tons of CO2 equivalent.

Carbonstop Won the Best Design Proposal in “Low Carbon Big Ideas” Design Proposal Competition in 2018

On the afternoon of January 11, the summary meeting of citizen low carbon actions, “Low Carbon Big Ideas” and “Leaders in Energy Efficiency” commendation meeting were jointly held in Energy Conservation and Emissions Reduction center of Shanghai. Zhou Qiang, deputy director of Shanghai Development and Reform Commission, Wang Hao, chairman of Shanghai Energy Conservation and Emissions Reduction Center, members of Shanghai Municipal Low Carbon Action Promotion Group, representatives of energy conservation department from relevant industry, winners of “Low Carbon Big Ideas” design proposal competition and winners of “Leaders in Energy Efficiency” participated the meeting. Carbonstop won the Best design proposal of “Low Carbon Big Idea” and received certificate from Zhou Qiang, deputy director of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission. In 2018, the “Low Carbon Big Ideas” design proposal competition started from October 16 to November 30 though the official wechat platform of “Citizen Low Carbon Actions in Shanghai”. Before November 30, this competition had received 25 proposals. 13 of them are related to the theme one (Low Carbon Lifestyle in “Clothes, Food, Accommodation, Transport and Consumption”); 9 of them are related to theme two (Package Recycling) and 3 of them are related to theme three (Low Carbon Map of Shanghai). Before December 10, the commission conducted a preliminary review of all submitted proposals. 18 proposals were chosen to next stage and required to present on site. On December 18 and 19, 13 experts from related government department. NGOs and corporations conducted the second review of 18 proposals regarding to the theme one, theme two and theme three respectively. The criterion includes innovation, rationality, validity, feasibility and sustainability. In the presentation and review stage, experts and presenters discussed potential problems about the innovation, expenditure, operability and future application. Experts also offer constructive suggestions to make the proposals become more practical. Based on the presentation and expert’s opinion, the commission awarded these honors as follows: 2 “Best Proposal”, 3 “Best innovation”, 3 “Great Potential for Application and Promotion” and 5 “Outstanding Participation”.

Carbonstop and the Energy Foundation Released Research Report of Energy-conservation Appliances and Carbon Emission Reduction on 2018 ‘Double 11’

In December 2018, Carbonstop (Beijing) Tech Co.Ltd released the research report of energy-conservation appliance and carbon emission reduction on 2018 ‘double 11’. The report was support by EF (the Energy Foundation) and produced by Carbonstop. The report collected the consumption data of ‘Double 11’ energy-saving appliances (Refrigerators, wash machines, air-conditioners, TVs) on e-commerce platforms, and analyzed consumer behaviors in terms of energy efficiency labels, carbon emissions, carbon emission reductions and prices. This research not only promotes the energy-conservation products, but also attracts the attention from consumers on carbon emission of daily consumption to change or intervene costumer behavior on low-carbon consumption. Once the report released, it had profound influence. Based on the report, Southern Weekly published the article illustrated the carbon emission reduction from the products people brought on double 11 and gave suggestion for upcoming double 12 – another on-line shopping day. The article got more than 75,000 views and 500 likes. People’s Daily international also published an article based on the report results to promote green consumption in e-commerce industry.
