On the evening of December 15, local time, the twenty-fourth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which lasted 15 days, was successfully concluded in Katowice, Poland. For the sixth time, the founder of Carbonstop, Luhui Yan, was invited to participate in the climate conference and participated in the panel discussion of the China Business Climate Action (CBCA) side event in “China Corner”, discussing the prospects and cooperation of Chinese enterprises' climate action with entrepreneurs. This side event was jointly initiated by 21 leading organizations including Vanke Foundation, SEE Foundation and C Team to lead and support companies to act in response to climate change and contribute solutions to addressing climate change. The 200 Parties completed the negotiation of the Paris rulebook under the principle of “common but differentiated responsibility” and “Respective capabilities”, and adopted a package of agreements, mainly involving transparency framework, establishing a new climate fund related process after 2025, how to implement the 2023 global inventory mechanism, how to assess the progress of technology development and transfer. “We have been working on this package for three years. When we have to deal with positions of almost 200 Parties, it is not easy to find an agreement concerning a multi-aspect and technical deal. Under these circumstances, each step forward was a great achievement. And I thank you for that. We can be proud of ourselves” said the COP24 President Michał Kurtyka during the plenary session concluding the summit. “Our common efforts didn’t consist solely of producing texts or defending national interests. We were conscious of our responsibility to people and commitment for the fate of Earth, which is our home and the home of future generations who will come after us” he added. The next COP will be held in Chile next year. It is reported that the Chinese government delegation set up the "China Corner" during the conference and held 25 climate change side events covering low carbon development, carbon market, renewable energy, South-South cooperation, etc. Xie Zhenhua, head of the China Climate Change Negotiation Group and special representative of China's climate change affairs, said: "The success of the Katowice Conference is a victory for multilateralism and a victory for building a community of human destiny." Carbonstop will continue to provide professional carbon consulting services, quantify the carbon footprint of products, strive to promote sustainable development, and actively respond to climate change in the future. The carbon market information inquiry mini program independently developed by Carbonstop has been successfully revised

Date:2018-12

Carbonstop is committed to proceeding basic construction for low-carbon industry. In order to providing more industries, companies and individuals with ways and means to understand carbon emission and implement carbon emission reductions, Carbonstop launched the “carbon market information inaury” mini program in March 2017, and in October of the same year completed the development of the world's first mobile carbon emission factor database, which became one of the most popular features among mini programs in China. In the old version 1.0, the “Carbon Emission Factor Database” provided a query for carbon emission factor data for enterprises and individuals, which facilitated carbon verification and individual carbon footprint calculation; the “Carbon Market Inquiry” provided various information of carbon trading pilots, which allowed everyone to keep up with the times; the “Quota Calculator” helped companies in different industries estimate quotas to avoid risks. However, as the data collected became larger and more specific, the original framework became more and more unreasonable. We would like to provide an interface to include more information while making it messy and bloated. The increasing data has also led to a slower search speed. Specifically, it took more than 1 minute for only one search, and the appropriate interactive feedback was not laid, making the user experience worse and worse. Moreover, the overall design style and visual style have become more and more inconsistent with the trend. Previously, the exquisite and clean page style became obsolete. As a result, Carbonstop made a bold revision! Firstly, redeveloping the functions. After many times of brainstorming, we first listed some new requirements, and reconstructed the functional structure of the product after a lot of user review and a large number of user surveys. We reorganized the requirements and functions and focused on re-developing the carbon emission factor database function module. In the new version, we integrated the same kind of data and presented it to users in the form of cards, greatly enhancing the relationship between different data and improved the diversity of search results. Some of the search results now show a variety of greenhouse gas emission factors, emission factors in multiple life cycle stages or different fuel parameters, so that users can better compare the differences between various types of data.  Secondly, we reconstructed the back-end database of the “carbon emission factor database”, and streamlined the search code, optimized the search logic, and the search speed increased. Thirdly, the original "Carbon Market Enquiry" will be revised to "Carbon Encyclopedia" in the near future (the function has not yet been launched), from both the domestic and international carbon markets, and presenting the information in the form of an encyclopedia article, not only for inspection, but also for users to edit. In terms of visual style, the dark blue in the past is too deep and too heavy, which is not suitable for the characteristic of going with the investigation. The new version adopts a light "sky blue" and uses most of the white space that conforms to the current design trend, highlighting the sense of quality. Carbonstop News Centre 2018-12-10
