Carbonstop participated the establishment of these four group standards. Luhui Yan, the founder of Carbonstop, introduced the carbon label of electrical and electronic products. On August 10, 2019, the 2nd International Conference on Carbon Labels for Electrical and Electronic Products was co-sponsored by China Electronic Energy-savung Technology Technology Association, the Development Promotion Center for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Low Carbon Economic Professional Committee, China Carbon Label Industry Innovation Alliance and Shenzhen Zhongdian Zhigu Operating Co., Ltd. The first International Forum on Carbon Labels for Products in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau Greater Bay Area was held in Difu Building of Shenzhen Zhongdian. The conference supported by various institute and corporations. What is "carbon label"? To mitigate impacts of climate change, reduce GHG emissions and promote low-carbon technologies, the GHG emissions emitted by the products in the life cycle are marked on the product label with a quantitative index to inform consumers of the carbon emission of the products. The label is called "carbon label." Why "carbon label" is essential？ In recent years, global climate became unstable, and increased GHG emission pose threat to human beings and environmental safety. It is important to reduce carbon emissions. In this context, the concept of “carbon footprint” appeared. Governments and related agencies have carried out research on carbon footprint assessment methods and launched “carbon labels” based on carbon footprint. China's "carbon label" assessment work In order to establish a sound product carbon label certification evaluation system, guide Chinese enterprises to low-carbon transformation and upgrade and promote green trade, the China Electronics Energy-saving Technology Association Low Carbon Economy Professional Committee and related industry-university research and development units started to develop the carbon footprint of electrical and electronic products in 2018. "General guideline for electrical and electronic products carbon footprint assessment", "Carbon Footprint Evaluation of LED Road Lighting Products"and more than 10 group standards. On November 15, 2018, the “General guideline for electrical and electronic products carbon footprint assessment” and “Specifications for Carbon Footprint Evaluation of LED Road Lighting Products” were officially released. The release of group standards will help China to promote the transformation of green consumption and production methods and improve green competitiveness. At the same time, the carbon label system and the green supply chain can effectively reduce energy consumption indicators and establish a comprehensive and comprehensive standard system.
On August 10, 2019, the inaugural meeting of China Carbon Label Industry Innovation Alliance, also the 2nd International Conference on Carbon Labels for Electrical and Electronic Products and the 1st International Forum on Carbon Labels for Products in Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, was held in Shenzhen. Carbonstop (Beijing) Tech Co., Ltd. was elected as the board member of the 1st Council of China Carbon Label Industry Innovation Alliance. China Carbon Label Industry Innovation Alliance is led by China Electronic Energy-saving Technology Association, jointly with all parties of "government, industry, education and research", with "government guidance, enterprise as subject, market operation, service first, effectiveness" as the basic principle, through an effective alliance mechanism, and joint efforts of all sectors of society to build a market integration. The green low-carbon development service platform, which integrates technology promotion, standard formulation, application demonstration, financial support and service guarantee, provides a solid guarantee for the sustainable development of carbon label enabling industry and promotes the linkage sustainable development of low-carbon industry. More than 200 enterprises and institutions from the fields of circular economy, carbon emission management, energy conservation and environmental protection participated in the meeting. The meeting also pointed out that consensus has been reached at the policy-making and executive levels on building an ecological environment community, establishing a mechanism of environmental cooperation and promoting the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure. It means that the driving force of carbon label enabling Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area is particularly strong, and the mutual recognition mechanism, exchange and cooperation of carbon label in Greater Bay Area ushered in a period of historical opportunities. The establishment of China Carbon Label Industry Innovation Alliance will be dedicated to building an innovative platform for carbon label industry, which will cohere consensus and link resources, and provide more industries and fields for Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and even the whole country.
On July 16, 2019, the Green Supply Chain Action of Real Estate (Green Chain Action) held the "Green List" project launch meeting in Beijing. Under the premise of promoting the environmental compliance of real estate supply chain enterprises, the Green List project proposed two higher requirements: improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions. On the basis of the scope and basis of the White List, Green List needs to be launched. At this meeting, the Green Chain Initiative officially launched the Green List project. The meeting brought together representatives from the government, industry associations, technical support agencies, public welfare organizations, real estate enterprises and suppliers to discuss the current situation, difficulties and needs of real estate suppliers in implementing energy efficiency improvement and carbon reduction. The meeting participants also put forward plans and suggestions for the project and held open discussions. Relevant studies show that China currently accounts for about 20% of global carbon emissions, of which nearly 40% are generated by the real estate and construction industries. As a result, in the global carbon emissions, China's real estate and construction industries account for about 8%, which has huge carbon emission reduction potential. To this end, the Green Chain Action has stricter requirements of carbon emission reduction and energy efficiency improvement on the basis of the white list requirements for pollution compliance, and launched the "Green List". What does the Green List needs to do? We will select the supply chain enterprises that meet the green definition and have excellent performance in energy saving and emission reduction to enter the "green list" and get the priority purchase of real estate enterprises. We want: Establish the evaluation rules of "Green List" and form "Green List" through screening. Promote real estate enterprises to make priority purchases in accordance with the "Green List"; Provide technical support to real estate enterprises and supplier enterprises in capacity building; Through the "Green List" mechanism, the Green Chain Action will promote real estate and upstream supply chain enterprises to turn huge carbon emission reduction potential into strong strength, and contribute to China's and even the world's carbon emission reduction goals. Green list frame for action In the next two years, the Green List project plans to work from baseline survey, compilation and certification of Green List evaluation rules, selection of Green List, carbon verification of enterprises themselves, carbon target setting, professional training, action plan, technical support, writing typical cases and analysis reports. Finally, some excellent suppliers were selected to enter the "Green List" for priority procurement. Luhui Yan, CEO of Carbonstop It is suggested that "green list" can be tried in five aspects: first, to find out enterprise data and quantify it well. Secondly, to establish the threshold mechanism of green list and determine the inclusion conditions and principles. Thirdly, to do basic industry work, to formulate the intensity of carbon emissions, to implement the demonstration project of product carbon footprint, and to disclose carbon information. Fourth, we may try to use a simple and easy-to-use software to let real estate enterprises calculate and manage their own carbon emissions. Fifthly, we can build a green index system of supply chain in the real estate industry, which is easy to replicate in the future.
Carbonstop calculated carbon emission reductions of garbage sorting in Xishantingyuan, this project was funded by VANKE Foundation. Garbage sorting can effectively reduce amount of waste disposal, less land-use of landfill and pollutants of incineration. and also increase the use of recycled materials. Garbage sorting brings different waste treatment rather than simple sorting. In Xishantingyuan, Carbonstop did the field research based on the annual waste generation, and maily focused on three theme: food waste with black soldier fly treatment, garden waste with compositing treatment and garbage sorting with sustainable treatment.
