The Hangzhou Marathon Organizing Committee and the China Green Carbon Foundation and Ant Forest launched a green charity run--"2018 Hangzhou Marathon Ant Forest Carbon Neutral Public Welfare Project". Donated by Green Public Welfare Runners and Ali Sports, China Green Carbon Foundation will open “Hangma Carbon Neutral Forest” in the Dongao Carbon Forest Project in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, and plant thousands of Pinus sylvestris that are used to neutralize the carbon emissions generated during the competition. Director Du Yongsheng said that the 2018 Hangzhou Marathon is the first domestic marathon event in the form of public participation and corporate donation to achieve carbon neutral on the day of the event. It is an innovative initiative for all people to participate in climate change action. It is hoped that more and more marathon runners will sign up for the Green Charity Channel to offset their carbon footprint and support global action to address climate change in a green way.
