More than 1,500 representatives from institutions, foundations, non-profit organizations, investment institutions, and media attended the opening ceremony.
Vanke Foundation Secretary General Chen Yimei introduced the UNLEASH2019 carbon neutralization project. She stated that after carbon accounting, the carbon emissions from the host country of the conference and the VIP flight of the conference were 576 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. Through public welfare donations from Vanke Public Welfare Foundation and Shenzhen Zhongbao Bixun Security Technology Co., Ltd., China Green Carbon Foundation will plant 86 acres of carbon neutral forests in Taihang Mountainous District, Hebei Province, and approximately 9,500 Platycladus orientalis. The absorbed carbon dioxide is sufficient to offset all the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the conference and VIP flights in the conference to achieve carbon neutrality.
