In 2018, Energy Foundation China supported the Carbonstop to survey the consumption of energy saving appliances during China’s annual shopping fiesta on “Singles Day/Double 11.”The report collects the consumption data of energy efficient refrigerators, wash machines, air-conditioners, and TVs on a major e-commerce platform in China, and analyzes how energy efficiency labels, carbon emissions, carbon emission reductions, and prices might affect consumer behavior. The research findings can help promote energy-saving products and green consumption, and more importantly, they call for public attention to the carbon implication of their daily consumption.
